Two February Poetry Readings

For those of you who live in Southern Connecticut I will be reading some of my poems, along with other poets, on February 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Carriage Barn in New Canaan, and on February 11 at 1:00 at the Weston Sr. Center.

The poets all belong to the Connecticut Poetry Society and many will have books available to purchase.

The group of poets is a diverse group composed of both the Wilton and New Canaan poets. Their styles are very different and they are very good poets.

I’m looking forward to both events.

Alfie Dog Stories

If you’re looking to download children’s stories why not try www.alfiedog.com. They are a great website with wonderful stories for kids. They have published three of mine, once is titled “The Cat in the Castle”. It’s rather like a fairy tale from years back.

Here is an example of the story:

Right after breakfast the King went up to Princess Victoria’s bedroom. He sat down on her bed and asked, “Why my darling daughter don’t you leave your room and play outside in the garden?
“I’m frightened,” said the princess.
“Frightened of what?” asked the King.
“I’m afraid of the mice” she answered.
“Oh those little creatures won’t come into our castle,’ said the King. “You can go into the library and sit by the fire and read.”
“They’re already here in the castle,” she answered. “I saw them last week scouring in and out of the kitchen.”
